Board of Directors

Butch Cusack-Fenton, President

Butch is a long-active member of Portland’s gay community, a founding member of the Harbor Masters, and co-owner of Blackstones, Portland’s oldest gay bar.  By day, he works at Maine Medical Center as an instructor in the School of Surgical Technology, and he is a part-time faculty member at the University of Southern Maine in the School of Nursing. Butch has been active in nursing education both locally and at the national level for more than 30 years.

He’s has served as RBPA’s secretary and as the Scholarship Committee chair, now chairing our annual member-to-member showcase.

With Harbor Masters and at Blackstones keeping him busy, Butch is a tireless member of our community, working with his partner, Ralph Cusack, assisting in making Portland a great place to live as well as to vacation.

David Sullivan, Vice President

Co-owner and Creative Director at ADMedia Communications, David has put his award-winning graphic design expertise to use with RBPA. Having created a consistent look for our print marketing materials, he then upgraded our Internet presence with a redesigned website which includes new features including more advertising opportunities for members. David is currently the RBPA Vice-President.

His 25-year-long career includes graphic design for newspaper and magazines advertising, books, product packaging, and websites, as well as creative direction for radio and television advertising. A native of Saco, David currently resides in Falmouth.

Andrew Newman, Treasurer

Andrew is Managing Partner of ADMedia Communications, an advertising and design firm. He joined the RBPA Board as Treasurer in 2011.

After attending the University of Maine, Andrew spent the first part of his career working in retail marketing and corporate management. He held assignments in many cities across the United States, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. He returned to Maine in the early 1990's and left the corporate world to co-found ADMedia Communications, a full service advertising and design firm, in 2004.  Andrew has been residing in Falmouth since 1999.

Guy J. Duprey, Jr.

Guy is an agent and financial associate at Living Wealth Partners, LLC – Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company. He is licensed as a life and health insurance agent in Maine, New Hampshire, and New York. He also is a property and casualty agent with Family & Friends Insurance Agency in Westbrook In addition to serving on the RBPA Board, he is also on the Board of Directors of The Portland Club and on the Member Relations Committee of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce. Indeed, he has a long history of civil involvement, having served on more than a half a dozen boards and as a member of the 121st Legislature from 2002–2004 as a State Representative. He has a variety of certificates and degrees, his latest a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Maine in Augusta. He resides in Portland.

Susan Eldridge

Deputy director of Westbrook Housing, Susan has spent the last 33 years in the nonprofit sector championing affordable housing opportunities for senior citizens, people with disabilities, and families in need.

Active in the Greater Portland Chamber of C ommerce, she has worked diligently to encourage greater LGBT visibility and participation in Chamber membership and activities. Under her leadership, RBPA is now a member of the Greater Portland Chamber, making all members eligible to participate in its events.  Susan says her goal for RBPA is to expand its membership to include more LGBT-owned and -friendly businesses and organizations.

A native Mainer and graduate of the University of Southern Maine, Susan lives in Buxton.

Monica Fischbach

Monica has been a member of the greater Portland LGBT community for over 30 years, moving to Maine from New York via Massachusetts. Her first Maine career was in card and gift sales.

Having returned to graduate school in 1991, Monica is now an LCPC and Board-certified Dance/Movement Therapist. In 2007, she opened her private practice, Creative Counseling in Saco, serving children and families, individuals of all abilities and ages, and, of course, members of the LGBT community.

Since 1998, Monica and Stephanie Deveau have owned Wellness Technologies of Maine, part of the Nikken distribution network, offering holistic products for optimal health.

Having served on the RBPA Scholarship Committee for the past two years, Monica now joins the Board, adding her efforts to the Membership Committee as well.

Monica and Stephanie live in Gray.

Danny R. Hatt

Danny is the owner/operator of Portland’s Emerald City, the Congress Street gift emporium opened in 2009. In addition, he is a licensed funeral director at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, assisting families at the most difficult time in their lives. Danny was educated from Machias, ME to Newton, MA, graduating in 1999 with an Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science. In addition to serving on the RBPA Board, he is on the Board of Directors of the Maine Funeral Directors Association. Danny resides in Portland.

Denise LaFrance

Denise is the founder of "Emerge Into YOU!" Coaching. She is a Women's Life Coach specializing in supporting women who come out at mid-life. She also assists gay women with relationship transition and with goal setting/achievement. She attended Coach Training Alliance, which is based out of Colorado, for her coach's certification.

She also has an extensive business background and for the past 15 years has held the position of office manager for Smith Atwood Video Services in Portland. She is a life long Mainer, having been born and raised in Sanford until she moved to the Portland area in 1984. Her personal joys include all things outdoors, gardening, cooking, traveling and reading. Denise has 2 grown children and lives with her partner in South Portland.

Casey Thomas Pearson

Casey is a life long resident of Cape Elizabeth, Maine however; he spends most of his summer days on Long Lake in Harrison, Maine. Casey was born with real estate in his blood. In 2006 he received his Real Estate License and founded Shore Enterprises, LLC, his first Real Estate Services company. Prior to 2010 this served as the focal point for his real estate investment projects. Due to his ability to differentiate himself from his competition, business grew rapidly. Casey knew it was time to take his business to the next level. In November 2010 Breakwater Development, LLC; a locally owned and operated real estate development company specializing in high-end custom homes, design, management and real estate sales; was born. Casey founded Breakwater Development based on his lifetime of experience in the real estate and property management industry.

Casey is a licensed Real Estate Broker, a member of the Greater Portland Board of REALTORS, the National Association of REALTORS, the National Association of Residential Property Managers and The Better Business Bureau just to name a few. He is also a Lieutenant and emergency medical technician for the town of Cape Elizabeth.

Casey strives to provide his clients with the most personal service available. With his comprehensive background combined with his “out of the box” thought process, Casey brings avant-garde concepts applied on an individual level.
